I have bet Mark that the read the bills act will not be passed in the next 10 years. Mark bets it will. I get 1 starbucks for each month it has not passed, with an 18 months grace period for Mark.  If it passes, Mark gets 150% of starbucks previously paid out for this bet.

Note: Its not that I don’t want this bill passed, I just think it has almost no chance.

I bet that mark will have a girlfriend for less than 8 weeks in the next calendar year (starting August 23, 2007).  For each week under 8 that mark has a girlfriend, I receive one starbucks.  for each week over 8, mark receives a starbucks.

Our definition of girlfriend:  Someone that mark will call his girlfriend in her presence, and who in turn will call mark her boyfriend in his absence.  For a girlfriend-week to count, he must spend 2 evenings with said person.

Other clauses:

•  it cannot be anyone who he has had a date with in the five years prior to the beginning of the contest, nor anyone who he has already asked out.
• she cannot be aware of the bet before the girlfriend-status has been established
• she cannot be a destitute starbucks fiend
